This lecture explores the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh, tracing his journey from a deeply religious young man to one of the most influential artists in modern history. It examines his late start in painting, his intense relationships, and the psychological struggles that shaped both his life and artistic vision. From his dark and heavy brushwork to masterpieces like “The Starry Night,” the lecture considers how Van Gogh’s suffering, isolation, and relentless pursuit of meaning contributed to a body of work that continues to resonate across cultures and generations.
